ARTIST STATEMENT:
“All of my dreams just fell like rain, all upon a downtown train”
-Tom Waits
She is the loudest city in the world, sleepless and full of dreams. New York is where it happens. No other night is like the night here. A beautiful catastrophe of roof top parties, fairytales and the banality of unusual grandiose behavior.
The general interpretation of my work is focused on when life in New York feels like a movie all the while experiencing anonymity; disturbing fantastic situations of a gloomy abstract environment detailed with mortality decay and landscape. An ongoing struggle for living and the secret poetry stained with blood from The Cracks In The Shadows of the Fear City.
It’s always black and white here. The corrosion of culture surfaces from the city’s abyss like an artistic fore warning, heavily rooted in the gritty streets and subways like a beat movie, a fairy tale version of my own life. Cracks In The Shadows focuses on the creative invocation from my New York trance – like cinematic nightmares and head trips.
There is always mystery left to grace in “Rat Town”.
