We’re excited to host singer-songwriter Angel Olsen when she comes to LPR on Thursday, February 20.

Burn Your Fire For No WitnessOlsen, who has collaborated with the likes of Bonnie “Prince” Billy and Marissa Nadler, will release Burn Your Fire for No Witness, her second solo LP and first for Jagjaguwar, just two days earlier, on February 18.

Olsen describes Burn Your Fire, which she created while living in Chicago, as “a collection of songs grown in a year of heartbreak, travel, and transformation.” Last month she shared “Forgiven/Forgotten,” the first single from the album, and today she debuted a video for the song, which you can watch right here:

Shot in Asheville, North Carolina on 16mm film, the video is “is complete with a ‘Freaks and Geeks’-inspired lovers quarrel that ends with the male character physically being hand-scratched out of the film,” according to director Zia Anger. “The only idea Angel and I had decided on was that she should be given a chance to act – to perform in a way most people have never seen her perform,” Anger adds.

“Forgiven/Forgotten” is a satisfyingly short and sweet number, but if you’re left craving more of Olsen’s wonderful music, here’s a video of her performing “Some Things Cosmic” at this year’s Pitchfork Music Festival:
