(Le) Poisson Rouge and Okayplayer are pleased to announce fANtastic, a weekly journey into the depths of ?uestlove’s musical encyclopedia.
The fANtastic kicks off on Monday, March 2, 2009 as the un-“OFFICIAL” afterparty for Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on NBC where The Roots, featuring ?uestlove, will perform nightly as the show’s house band.
(Le) Poisson Rouge is thrilled to be hosting ?uestlove’s first NYC residency. After the initial kickoff, the party resumes again on a weekly basis starting Thursday, March 26. Expect to see many familiar faces both in the crowd and the DJ booth with special surprise guests bringing their own flavor to the party.
?uestlove is the unmistakable heartbeat of The Roots, the most influential hip-hop band on the planet. Beyond that, this Grammy award-winning musician’s indisputable reputation has landed him musical directing positions with everyone from D’Angelo to Eminem and Jay-Z. He boasts production credits for Al Green, Erykah Badu, Joss Stone, Justin Timberlake and D’Angelo, among many others. His uncanny ear for picking the perfect song for the perfect moment landed him the position of musical director of The Dave Chapelle Show.
With the fusion of music, culture and revelry as its mission, (Le) Poisson Rouge is the ideal location to showcase ?uestlove’s enduring musical discovery and dynamic performances. Located on the site of the historic Village Gate, LPR hosts a variety of burgeoning and established artists and seeks to bring a broad range of media, genres and styles to an audience of eager music fans. With weekly special guests appearing at ?uestlove’s behest, LPR will continue to bring music lovers of all kinds cutting-edge programming and unparalleled artists to its stage.
?uestlove’s fANtastic at (Le) Poisson Rouge will take place on March 2, 2009, March 26, 2009 and run every Thursday night thereafter at 11PM through May 28, 2009. Special guests to be announced weekly.

?uestlove’s insatiable love of music has led him on a worldwide crate-digging journey. He has amassed a vinyl collection of more than 50,000 records that are shelved in a floor to ceiling, climate controlled library room in his personal studio. What to do with all those records? DJ, of course. ?uestlove has rocked parties to sold out crowds worldwide. With such a diverse collection, he is able to deliver an eclectic variety of sets. Whether it’s hip-hop, house, 80’s, rare grooves or a mix of everything in between, he commands people to the dance floor to get loose and get down. Previous DJ appearances include sold out shows at the Winter X Games Aspen, LA Fashion Week, Winter Music Conference, the highly respected Southport DJ Weekender, NBA All-Star Parties, Miami Fashion Week, Sundance Film Festival, after parties and gigs all over America, Europe, South Africa, Australia and Japan.
