Stream Angel Olsen’s New Album ‘Burn Your Fire for No Witness’

On February 18 singer-songwriter Angel Olsen will release Burn Your Fire for No Witness, her debut album on Jagjaguwar. And just a couple days later she’ll be joining us for a show on Thursday, February 20.

As you can probably tell from our previous posts highlighting her recent Tiny Desk Concert and “Forgiven/Forgotten” video, we can’t wait to see Olsen live. For now, though, we’ll continue to enjoy Burn Your Fire for No Witness, which you can stream over at NPR.com.

While you’re giving the album a listen, we recommend checking out
this great Chicago Mag profile on Olsen. Among other things, she talks about visiting New York (“I felt like someone stuck an adrenaline shot in my leg”), keeping her music DIY (“No commercials and no TV shows”) and what she might do if a full-time music career isn’t in the stars (“Maybe I can have a taco truck and become the tamale lady of the South”). As awesome and tasty as that fallback sounds, the terrific songs that populate Burn Your Fire make us think she won’t need it.

Go give the album a virtual spin over at NPR’s First Listen. Or, if you’ve only got time to listen to a track or two, check out a couple choice cuts below. And don’t forget to grab your tickets for Olsen’s LPR show on February 20 before they’re gone!
