“My January nod would have to go to The Julliard String Quartet. For 60+ years The Julliard String Quartet has represented the epitome of string quartet playing and have become the gold standard for much of the Classical, Romantic and 20th Century canon. Their interpretations of the complete Bartok and late Beethoven Quartets are particularly iconic. I for one have worn my copy of their paired Debussy and Ravel Quartets into the ground!

With a new lineup that brings violinist Joseph Lin to the already formidable core of Ronald Copes, Samuel Rhodes, and Joel Krosnick, it is certainly our privilege to have these guys in the house, especially with a program — including Haydn and Carter — that showcases the breadth of their artistry and command of the medium.”
