On the Rise at LPR
On The Rise at LPR is a music series dedicated to showcasing up and coming bands from the New York City area. LPR is committed to finding some of the best local talent and exposing our patrons to bands that we truly believe in.
Whiskey Bitches
Whiskey Bitches played their very first gig on Saturday, December 22, 2012 as a joke band to fill a slot on a bill at Muchmore’s. The band soon had more shows than practices and it became obvious Whiskey Bitches wasn’t a temporary stint. Imagine the Clash without the reggae and more of the Ramones energy, a tsp of grungier guitar, tsp of Green Day and Joan Jett vocals, and you’re getting pretty close to what Whiskey Bitches sounds like.

Edith Pop
Edith Pop is comprised of best friends Tim Oakley (formerly of Mathematicians and Phantogram) and Laura Hajek (pandha piranha), Aided by Oscar Allen on guitar and Miles Lally on bass. The songs featured on the premiere EP capture both the joyful hope and deep ennui of trying to reconcile the banality of daily life with the excitement of teenage faith in rock and roll. Based in New York, Edith Pop’s debut EP is currently an independent project produced in its entirety by Tim Oakley and Stitch.

The Naked Heroes
The Naked Heroes are a duo of soul redeeming shaman who set the room afire with their spirited, red-blooded, call and response based live shows that are best described as a controlled form of chaos. They celebrate a primal connection to a greasy, unhinged humanity that lurks deep inside all of us and yearns to be exercised. Members Merica Lee and George Jackson use rock ‘n’ roll as a springboard and infuse it with elements of r&b, blues, and dance music to create their own unique foot-stompin’, ass-shakin’, soul redeeming elixir.
