New York Choir Project was founded in 2012 with the intent of using group singing as a development tool for organizations across New York City: creating employee bonding opportunities for business retreats, for instance, or encouraging childhood development of social skills in schools.

But the idea was too big to be contained in those worlds alone—in the same way you can’t stop a good song from bursting free. Today, New York Choir Project has expanded to include four adult choirs.

Like the workshops for businesses, communities and schools, the choir groups all draw on the most contemporary and accessible teaching methods to engage and excite singers of all levels. In other words, we make it easy to find your voice, and love doing it.

Founded by master leader Charlie Adams, New York Choir Project brings together the best of her two-decade-long (ish) experience with choirs, workplace singing, and music education in both the UK and NYC.

Our second-born (but not second in our hearts) choir is a little less Brit and a lot more kooky, which just makes the music more fun. It rocks (and pops, and indies) out to everyone from Brandi Carlile to Green Day to Dolly Parton.

Our first adult choir is now 10 (+1), but still rocking the same bloody brilliant vibe of its youth. What else hasn’t changed? Its obsession with all things Brit, from Bowie to the Arctic Monkeys, Blur to the Spice Girls, and beyond.

B-Side made the scene when Brooklynite grew out of its space, but like any younger sibling, took on a personality all its own. Lively, lovely and in touch with its retro roots — Fleetwood Mac, the Bangles and more — it puts the “B” in beautiful music.

As the newest addition to the family, and the LES, Metropop’s fresh, hot and in the New York groove. It sings artists as legendary as the city itself — Beyonce anyone?
