Mortiis
Dungeon synth master MORTIIS is pleased to welcome BRIGHTER DEATH NOW as direct support for the upcoming North American headlining tour, who will be performing parts of his”Necrose Evangelicum” album from 1995 for this tour for the first time! In addition, a performance has been added to Albuquerque, NM to the previously announced routing and has updated venues in Los Angeles, CA and Houston, TX. The tour will be in celebration of MORTIIS’ seminal 1993 album, ‘Født Til Å Herske,’ which played a significant role in popularizing the dungeon synth genre and was re-recorded in 2023.
MORTIIS live soundscape will be accompanied with visuals created by renowned artist and illustrator David Thierree, known for his work with Mortiis, Behemoth, and others.
MORTIIS comments:“The circle comes unbroken once more, as we’ve evoked the ghosts of ‘Født Til Å Herske’ and’Necrose Evangelicum.’ I’m beyond excited to have reconnected with Roger Karmanik, in this quest to reawaken our shared past of a quarter century ago. I have reinforced, and iron-clad thesound of ‘Født Til Å Herske,’ while the sound of Brighter Death Now ́s ‘Necrose Evangelicum’ willsend your soul screaming into oblivion.
Sombre Arcane
SOMBRE ARCANE hails from Massachusetts, and released their self-titled demo in August of 2018, followed by a series of compilations and demos before releasing their debut LP ‘Realmsong’ in 2021. One of the earliest American proponents of live dungeon synth, Phranick and Naginah have offered over seventy rituals to the public, including national and international festivals, as well as two successful nationwide tours which incorporate costume and elaborate staging to make the audience feel like they are peering into a portal to another universe.
Hermit Knight
Hailing from the banks of the Genesee River in Rochester, New York, Hermit Knight brings fantasy, chivalry, and emotion to each and every composition. Manifesting antique atmospheres and soothing leads for wonderfully evocative soundscapes that carry listeners through a swath of nostalgia, Hermit Knight’s “emotional fantasy synth” draws from both the real and the fantastical, fusing human emotion with lore and legend. Hermit Knight is no stranger to the stage, having just played the Texas Dungeon Siege and (soon) the Great Lakes Dungeon Siege, and promises a performance for the ages.
Hermit Knight has been deeply involved in the dungeon synth scene; the project’s founder and creator Nicholas the Gnome runs WereGnome Records and books local dungeon synth shows in and around Rochester.
