Kælan Mikla

Kælan Mikla was founded in 2013 as an entry in a poetry competition. In the following years they continued to emerge and establish themselves as a solid part of the Reykjavik grassroots scene. In 2015, the song Kalt was released and attracted a lot of attention abroad. Subsequently, the band began performing with various well-known bands abroad. Over the past five years Kælan Mikla have travelled continuously and have released three LPs. Robert Smith, the front-man of the immortal band The Cure is a big fan and has booked Kælan Mikla to play at the various festivals he has curated, alongside iconic bands such as Pixies, Slowdive, Deftones, as well as having them solely open for the rock band Placebo. Following the release of their third LP, Nótt eftir nótt, they have gained a large audience amongst fans of dark and dreary music, but what really makes Kælan Mikla stand out is the strong audiovisual adventure through their magical world that is constantly evolving and always leaves the crowd with a memorable concert experience. The band’s fourth album, Undir Köldum Norðurljósum, was released in 2021 to international acclaim and featured a guest appearance by French blackgaze band Alcest.

KANGA

KANGA is an electronic musician, producer and remixer from Los Angeles, CA. Championed by electronica icon Gary Numan and widely considered one of the finest darkwave purveyors, KANGA fuses post-apocalyptic pop sensibilities with body-shaking rhythms and sinuous melodies. Following on the heels of her 2016 acclaimed self-titled debut album, she self-released her “Eternal Daughter” EP in late 2019. ReGen Magazine wrote “From start to finish, Eternal Daughter showcases her mastery of production and songwriting, from the glitchy vocal effects subtly meshing with the controlled synthetic energy and dynamic percussion of “Daughter” to the forceful shifts in rhythm on “Control…”

KANGA joined Gary Numan on his sold out 40th Anniversary UK tour in late 2019 to great acclaim.

Her “Eternal Daughter” EP was re-released on April 24, 2020 on Artoffact Records, featuring three brand new bonus tracks that highlight KANGA’s considerable talents as a producer and musician.

KANGA is currently recording her next full length album, which will be released in early 2021 on Artoffact.
