LPR Presents: Ilana Glazer- The Generator Series (Night 3) at Murmrr Theatre: 17 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn NY 11238

Generator is a movement inspiring people who live in the U.S. to humanize policy through storytelling. We achieve this by using social media platforms to share about how policy affects our everyday lives. Founded by Broad City’s Ilana Glazer, Ruby Anaya and Glennis Meagher, we humbly admit: we don’t know shit!

This Generator Series is a limited 4-part event focused on progressive candidates running in the midterms and activists working towards social justice. Ilana Glazer will be interviewing activists and politicians to see how they each serve us – the people. This election might be one of the most important in our lifetime, so we are also coordinating volunteer buses for those able and interested the weekend of November 3rd to canvas for the candidates you see at the show. We’ll also share additional ways to volunteer – let’s do all that we can and work together to make sure this election counts.

And you – yes you – will get the chance to record your own Generator video at the event with the help of fellow Generators. Learn more at generatorcollective.com.

The Generator Collective

Generator Collective Official Website | Generator Collective on Facebook | Generator Collective on Instagram | Generator Collective on YouTube

Generator Collective aims to be a community for Americans to share their stories on how they have been impacted by political policy – both positive and negative. We want to humanize policy through storytelling by helping organize the noise of these policies into digestible, human stories, and overall lower the political barrier of entry.

The Generator was created by three women who want to help reduce the political divide and start human conversations around how policy impacts real people.

Susan Bysiewicz, Ari Berman and Ana Maria Archila

Susan Bysiewicz is running for Lt. Governor of Connecticut. She was raised the proud granddaughter of immigrants who came to Connecticut from Poland and Greece with nothing but hopes for a better future. After many years of factory work, they saved enough to buy a farm in the Westfield section of Middletown that became Susan’s childhood home. Growing up and working on the farm, she and her siblings learned the values of hard work, education, and persistence. Susan’s parents taught her to fight for what she believes in and to stand up for others who need help.

Ana María Archila emigrated to the U.S. from Colombia at the age of 17 and has become a leading voice for racial justice, economic justice and immigrant rights in New York and nationally, first as co-Executive Director of Make the Road New York (MRNY), and now as co-Executive Director of the Center for Popular Democracy (CPD). She is most recently known for standing up to Senator Jeff Flake during the Kavanaugh hearings.

Ari Berman is a senior reporter at Mother Jones, covering voting rights. He’s the author of Give Us the Ballot: The Modern Struggle for Voting Rights in America.
