EXO-TECH is a New York collective of musicians and improvisers formed by SOPHIA BROUS and NZ pop innovator KIMBRA. Exploring intersections between collective improvisation and energetic song-form composition, EXO-TECH traverses fields between Talking Heads, Can, The Knife and the Art Ensemble of Chicago, as much influenced by modern pop and rnb as by free jazz, avant garde improvisation and film music. Features an ensemble of some of New York and beyond’s most respected music luminaries. December 9th’s lineup will include Sophia Brous – voice; Kimbra – voice, electronics; Zoh Amba – saxophone; Darian Donovan Thomas – violin electronics; Trevor Dunn – bass; Greg Fox – drums; Will Graefe – guitar; Mike Haldeman – guitar; Jason Lindner – synthesizer, keyboards; Mauro Refosco – percussion; Lester St Louis – cello; Cole Kamen-Green – trumpet, electronics; Kaoru Watanabe – shinobue flutes, percussion; and Doug Wieselman – saxophones, woodwinds.
