Carsie Blanton is a songwriter with hooks, chutzpah, and revolutionary optimism. “It is possible to face the world as it is – rapidly heating, ruled by grifters, ravaged by profitable wars – and still have hope,” she says of her forthcoming release, After the Revolution. “Not the narrow, grasping hope you might hang on an election or a billionaire, but a patient, zoomed-out hope.”

Blanton’s ninth full-length album draws from her many influences. Tracks like My Good Friends evoke her childhood in Appalachia, while Ain’t We Got Fun showcases a musical roux earned from a long stint in New Orleans. The title track, a hard-rocking protest anthem, shows that her commitment to the good fight need not obscure her considerable acumen as a writer and musician.

With her unique mix of humor, soul, and political wit, and fifteen-plus years on the road, Blanton has amassed a dedicated fan base and a small menagerie of viral hits (Rich People, Shit List, Fishin’ With You). Her forthcoming album After the Revolution, produced by Grammy-winner Tyler Chester, is slated for release in March of 2024.

The 4,115 miles that young troubadour Josh Okeefe traveled from his birthplace to his current home of Nashville, Tennessee, tell just one small part of a nomadic life in music which actually spans generations and encompasses myriad genres, traditions and disciplines.

Okeefe dropped out of school at age 16. Living briefly in numerous places including London and the seaside resort town of Brighton, Okeefe often slept on the floors of recording studios, music coffee houses and other small venues. After traveling to America in search of the places his music idols once roamed, he began writing songs at an astonishing pace.

Having travelled from Dublin to New York, from Nashville to London and Glasgow to California, Okeefe has shared stages with legends including Kris Kristofferson , Ramblin’ Jack Elliott , Alison Krauss and Billy Bragg , among many others. In addition, he was invited by Bernie Sanders to perform at a ‘Town Hall Meeting’, and has appeared at a number of protest events.
