The Birthday Massacre

The Birthday Massacre is a Canadian gothic and electronic rock band formed in 1999. They gained widespread recognition with their 2005 breakout album Violet, featuring standout tracks “Blue” and “Happy Birthday”, which cemented their signature sound—a hypnotic blend of eerie, ethereal melodies and heavy, driving riffs.

For over 20 years, The Birthday Massacre has intricately woven captivating new chapters into their hauntingly beautiful lore. Under Your Spell (2017) and Diamonds (2020) immersed listeners in their unique blend of dark whimsy and nostalgic melancholy, with their recent Billboard charting album Fascination (2022) further exemplifying their mastery of atmospheric storytelling, and presenting a soundscape that feels both familiar and transformative.

With each new release expanding the band’s universe through lush, cinematic production and deeply emotive lyrics, The Birthday Massacre continue to remain a permanent fixture in the gothic rock scene, beloved for their dynamic live performances and enduring artistry.

Julien-K

Amir Derakh, Ryan Shuck and Anthony “Fu” Valcic have been musical collaborators for 15+ years. During their time together they have weaved in and out of mainstream music like a constantly evolving musical fashion house. In the late 90’s they were responsible for massive radio and sales hits such as “Korn”, “Blue Monday”, “Stitches”, and “Fiction”, and recently “Crawl Back In” and “Let Down” (Dead By Sunrise with their close friend Chester Bennington). After enjoying years of traditional music business success, they have spent the last decade methodically moving away from the mainstream approach that put them on the map, opting to carefully steer their fans in a new direction, towards their new independent alternative electro rock project Julien-K – which sounds more at home with acts like Depeche Mode, The Kills, Nine Inch Nails, New Order, The Presets, Interpol, & Phantogram.
