Victoria Benson Victoria Benson

Promising young soprano Victoria Benson began her career at the age of eleven when she performed as one of the Three Spirits in Mozart’s The Magic Flute at Virginia Opera. While still in high school, she attended the Washington National Opera Institute for Young Singers and performed as a soloist and choir member throughout the DC metro area, including at The Kennedy Center.
 
Victoria received a Bachelor of Music Degree from Ithaca College, where she performed partial roles in operas such as Peter Grimes, Don Giovanni, Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail, and two great American Musicals: Candide and A Light in the Piazza. She also sang the title role in Acis and Galatea under the direction of David Lefkowich.
 
Westminster Choir College recently bestowed a Master of Music in Vocal Performance on the soprano. While attending this prestigious Princeton institution, she was heard in the role of Soeur Anne de la Croix in Dialogues des Carmélites under the direction of Daniel Beckwith and Marc Verzatt.
 
In January of 2014 Victoria made her pants role debut in Utopia Opera’s production of the rarely performed Massenet opera Don Quichotte.
 
Victoria lives and works in New York City. She sings with several local companies, including Utopia Opera, New York Lyric Opera Theatre, Empire Opera, and the Union City Philharmonic Orchestra, and has performed at various venues throughout New York City, including Hunter College, Arclight Theater, Symphony Space, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center.
