terraNOVA Collective presents Fool's Paradise, an evening of 10-minute plays terraNOVA Collective presents Fool's Paradise, an evening of 10-minute plays

terraNOVA Collective is an ever-expanding collective of artists devoted to nurturing distinct and innovative theatrical voices. We are dedicated to cultivating environments where the art of storytelling thrives, and actively seek stages for the new theatre we develop.

Founded in 1996 by graduates from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City under the leadership of Ray Yeates, former Artistic Director of The Abbey Theatre in Ireland, terraNOVA Collective has grown from an assembly of like-minded theatre artists into a not-for-profit organization offering playwrights a supportive and energetic environment to develop and produce their work. Since its inception, terraNOVA has staged 8 full-scale productions, over 20 plays within 7 new play workshop series, and 9 annual solo performance festivals that feature diverse artists of many disciplines. Over the past 8 years, terraNOVA has developed more than 90 plays through Groundbreakers, and has given a platform to approximately 320 solo artists in our annual soloNOVA Arts Festival.

terraNOVA Collective is in its 11th season and focuses on the fusion of art forms creating a new brand of theatrical storytelling. terraNOVA’s rich history in New York City began in the late-90s, among such companies as LAByrinth, Partial Comfort and Vampire Cowboys, all of whom remain dedicated to new plays and playwrights. Giving stage to hundreds of emerging and established artists each year, terraNOVA gives freedom to each individual to take risks in their storytelling. terraNOVA is one of the only companies in NYC nurturing bold, controversial and challenging stories from first draft through to production.

terraNOVA has received many accolades including the New York Innovative Theatre Foundation’s 2013 Caffe Cino Award, 40 New York Innovative Theatre Award nominations, of which 6 were awarded. In 2012, terraNOVA was honored as one of nytheatre.com’s “People of the Year”.
