Tammy oversees strategic direction, communications, and business development for She’s the First, a nonprofit that provides scholarships to girls in low-income countries who will be the first in their families to graduate from high school. To date, She’s the First has more than 700 Scholars in 11 countries and engages a network of 193 U.S. high school and university campus chapters in its mission.
In 2015, She’s the First had its first one-million dollar revenue year. Tammy has attracted major support from the NoVo Foundation, Andrew & Ann Tisch Foundation, Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation, American Express Foundation, Microsoft, Dermalogica/Unilever, Google, Scholastic, Nanette Lepore, among many others.
Previously, Tammy worked for Hearst Magazines, where she was the first social media editor of Seventeen.
Tammy is a first-generation college graduate who attended The College of New Jersey. Voted “Most Shy” in her high school yearbook, Tammy is anything but shy today. She is recognized among Fast Company’s League of Extraordinary Women and Most Creative People in Business 1000 and on Forbes’ first-ever 30 Under 30 in Education list. She received DVF’s People’s Voice Award and is among Marie Claire’s 20 Women Changing the World.
