Phil Burke is best known as the menacing casino owner ‘Mickey McGinnes‘ on AMC’s hit show Hell on Wheels. He is currently shooting a recurring role on Syfy’s reimagining of Van Helsing. Burke could recently be seen in the independent film, Dirty Weekend directed by Neil LaBute and opposite Matthew Broderick and Alice Eve. Other film credits include the Judd Apatow feature film This Is 40 for Universal, the indie film Wind Walkers produced by award winning producer Heather Rae and the independent film Ibid written and directed by Russell Friedenberg. Burke recently had a starring role on DirecTV’s series Billy and Billie created by Neil Labute as well as a guest spot on Cinemax’s The Knick created by Steven Soderbergh and starring Clive Owen . Other TV credits include a recurring role on the NBC series “Mercy,” NBC’s “Law & Order” and Chicago PD… and CBS’ “The Good Wife.” Burke has also be seen in the Canadian Screen Award winning web series “Space Janitors”. Born in Toronto, Canada to immigrant parents from Ireland, Burke attended The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York.
