Peter Groenwald started playing piano in his home as soon as he was old enough
to climb up on the piano bench. From there, he took an interest in whatever
instruments he could get his hands on. After high school, he packed his dreams
and his instruments and moved to Nashville. He joined forces with the MCA group,
Llama, playing keyboards and singing background vocals and touring heavily
behind the likes of John Mayer and O.A.R.

His time with Llama led to playing with and opening for artists including Missy
Higgins, The Civil Wars, The Silver Seas, Madi Diaz, Landon Pigg, Mindy Smith,
Griffin House, Erin McCarley, David Mead, Kate York, and Andrew Belle. He
appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brian and
has performed at The Ryman Auditorium, Red Rocks Amphitheater, and Radio
City Music Hall.

After spending nearly a decade touring, Peter stepped out of the musical
background when he self-produced and released his EP Sweet Science in 2011 to
critical acclaim. Trying his hand at songwriting and instrumentation suited him.
Last.fm praised the work, saying, “…(his) lush arrangements straddle the lines
between pop, folk and rock music. Acoustic and electric guitars, piano, soaring
harmony vocals and a pulsing backbeat accentuate his thoughtful songwriting.”
Through the making of Sweet Science, Peter found that the heart of his music is in
his producing and writing. He has produced songs and records for Liz Longley,
Prateek Kuhad, Mindy Smith, Jill Andrews and Zoe Sky Jordan. His writing credits
include songs by Natalie Hemby, Sarah Siskind, Amy Stroup, K.S. Rhoads,
Wayne Kirkpatrick, Trent Dabb and Matthew Perryman Jones.
In 2016, Peter Joined forces with fellow Nashville songwriter, Jill Andrews, to form
the band Hush Kids. They released their self-titled debut album in 2018, produced
by Ian Fitchuk (Kacey Musgraves, Maren Morris, Leon Bridges). They spent the
next year touring, and are currently working on their second album.
He’s primarily working in the genres of Pop, Singer/Songwriter, Folk, Americana,
and creating music for film/TV. His studio and family are based in Nashville,
Tennessee.
