Mega Ran aka Raheem Jarbo of Phoenix by way of Philadelphia is a former teacher turned hip hop artist, producer, podcast host and DJ. He is probably best known for combining video game culture and knowledge with hip hop, creating tracks that caught the attention of international game developer CAPCOM, who offered young Ran an unprecedented licensing agreement.

Arguably the world’s most well known video-game influenced performance artist, Mega Ran seems to go viral every other month, touching the pop culture zeitgeist with timely, heartfelt rhymes over soulful and chiptune fueled beats in what he calls “chip-hop.”

Ran may have traded in the chalk for the microphone, but every song, every lyric, and every appearance is a lesson. School is in.
