Ian Drennan
Ian Drennan
Young avant-garde audio/visual artist Ian Drennan processes woodwinds, sax and piano through MAX-MSP programming and sampling to create meditative and occasionally brutal sound sculpture, often verging into Dada and theatre. Working in 3D modelling as an architect by day, Drennan’s playful fascination with texture and space can be heard throughout his compositions, both sublime and warped. Influences include Coil, Otomo Yoshihide, Samuel Beckett, and Bill Nelson.
Ian Drennan will be performing selections from his first two albums, “The Wonderful World” (2012) and “Prelude To Bleu Bird Cabaret” (2013), as well as his upcoming third album.
