With a kaleidoscopic sense of time and texture, GADADU weaves driving rhythms, dynamic shifts and unorthodox song forms into a unique and mesmerizing sound. Started in 2013 as a collaboration between Hannah Selin (viola/voice/composition) and Nicki Adams (piano/voice/composition), GADADU expanded in early 2014 to include trumpet, guitar, bass and drums. The quintet has performed across New York City and the surrounding region at venues including ShapeShifter Lab (Brooklyn), Cake Shop (Manhattan), Lot 45 (Brooklyn), Radio Bushwick (Brooklyn), The Shrine (Harlem), Silvana (Harlem), Taszo Espresso (Washington Heights), The LaunchPad (Brooklyn) and 3G Lounge (Philadelphia). GADADU’s debut album was released on February 24th, 2015 and has since been awarded Top Album of April by The Equal Ground.
