David Halley
Born in Oklahoma City and raised in Lubbock, Texas, David Halley now lives in Austin, Texas. Shortly after his arrival in Austin in 1983 he was featured with Townes Van Zandt, Butch Hancock and Jimmie Dale Gilmore in “A West Texas Songwriter’s Special” on the PBS series Austin City Limits.
His song, Hard Livin’ had already been covered by Joe Ely, and has since been recorded by Jerry Jeff Walker, Keith Whitley (Top Ten Country Hit), The Nighthawks and many others. In the May/June 2010 issue of American Songwriter magazine in the article: 50 Country Songs Every Songwriter Should Know his song Rain Just Falls was listed as #18. He writes a wide variety of songs.
