Austin, Texas-based artist Curse Mackey is often known as singer + sample banger of industrial supergroup PIGFACE and as a frequent member of My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult. Having earned a reputation as a prominent performer and DJ in the darkwave, industrial genres and as a synth/sampler/sound designer, Mackey has now launched a self-titled alternative/electronic project with his debut album entitled INSTANT EXORCISM released May 10, 2019, on Negative Gain Productions. The album has received coverage from Kerrang, Revolver, Post-Punk.com and others to very positive review and features a guest appearance from Ronny Moorings, frontman of Clan of Xymox.

Curse’s sound fuses post-punk, dystopian electronics with doom-fueled drones, seductive synth pulsations and industrial dance club beats that evoke the ghosts of early Skinny Puppy, “Twitch-era” Ministry, Coil, and the iconic projects Mackey has been a part of. ‘Instant Exorcism’ will be supported with full US 2019 tour schedule including dates supporting My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, iconic darkwave legends Clan of Xymox and Pigface as well as appearances at Cold Waves Festival (Chicago) and Levitation Fest (Austin, TX). Mackey’s new live show is compellingly fresh and intensely captivating having toured extensively in 2018 including a live show in Taipei, Taiwan.

Mackey recently received vast press coverage for a surprise fill-in for Peter Murphy who was unable to perform at the final 40 years of Bauhaus Celebration with David J.  Mackey ended up singing four Bauhaus classics to a sold-out Orlando audience and was personally invited by Bauhaus, Love + Rockets bass player David J to stand-in for Mr. Murphy. This has led to the development of a new collaborative project between Mackey, David J and Rona Rougeheart of Austin, TX dark electronic darlings SINE.

Curse’s participation in PIGFACE and other projects has led Mackey to collaborative opportunities with such luminaries as Ogre of Skinny Puppy, Martin Atkins of Ministry/Killing Joke, En Esch of KMFDM, Genesis P-Orridge of Psychic TV, Danny Carey of Tool amongst others.
