Whether it’s with their infectious hardcore urgency, or uniquely powerful lyrics, the true grit of Blacklisted will move you. They carry a soul and energy unlike any other hardcore band. Blacklisted pick up the torch that contemporary legends American Nightmare once proudly carried. Merging a violence, honesty, and emotional outpouring into one untamable and inspiring hardcore machine.
Blacklisted came to the forefront of the hardcore community with their “Our Youth Is Wasted” CD, released on Jamey Jasta’s Stillborn label (now out of print). After touring the U.S. in support of the release, the band took part in the “Dead Man’s Hand” split 7″EP series on Deathwish, pairing up with LA’s First Blood. This release was the first step in now a long standing friendship and partnership between the band and the label.
Shortly after that release surfaced, Blacklisted found a permanent home on Deathwish and released their “We’re Unstoppable” CD. A collection of songs from their classic demo recordings and the “Our Youth…” release.
In 2005, they entered The Outpost with engineer Jim Siegel (Blood For Blood, Dropkick Murphys) to record their now classic album “…The Beat Goes On”. Comprised of 13 contemporary hardcore anthems, “…The Beat Goes On” celebrates the triumph, underdog determination that defines Blacklisted.
After over a year of constant touring and lineup refinement, Blacklisted returned with their release “Peace On Earth, War On Stage”. Recorded with Kurt Ballou at Godcity Studios, “Peace On Earth, War On Stage” was comprised of four groundbreaking musical wars. Showcasing the intense musical progression, poetic prowess, and raw sonic power that is today’s Blacklisted.
2008 ushered in a new era for Blacklisted with the release of their now classic “Heavier Than Heaven…” album. Recorded and engineered by Kurt Ballou (Converge) @ Godcity, “Heavier Than Heaven, Lonelier Than God” carried a psychological darkness merely hinted at in their previous “Peace On Earth…” release, diving head first into the jaws of their introspective abyss. This bold leap sharpened their teeth and reaped great creative rewards. Songs like “Stations” and “Touch Test” erupted with a shocking state of emotional electricity, while the abrasive melancholy of “Circuit Breaker” and “Wish” possessed the ability to haunt listeners for a lifetime. Cementing their reputation as one of the only true lone-wolves of their hardcore generation.
