Alan Feuer has been a staff writer at the New York Times since 1999. He has written about prisons, the Mafia, baseball, steakhouse waiters, pigeon racers, firefighters, bartenders, crooked politicians, hamburgers in the Bronx and single mothers. Currently he writes feature stories about New York City for the Sunday Metropolitan section. Alan is the author of “Over There,” an account of his time covering the war in Iraq for the Times, of “Still New York,” a book with the documentary filmmaker Ric Burns about the New York paintings of the artist Rick Brozen.
