The AMERICAN STRING QUARTET collaborates with Triptych Readings for “When Art Speaks.” Three prominent poets — Matthea Harvey, Frank Bidart and J. Mae Barizo — will read poems written for the event between performances by the American String Quartet of Beethoven’s Grosse Fugue, Webern’s “Five Pieces,” Ruth Crawford Seeger’s Quartet 1931 and Bartok’s Quartet No. 3.
