Jherek Bischoff - Michael Katzif / WNYC
Fresh off his performance with the Kronos Quartet at Lincoln Center last weekend, Jherek Bischoff comes to LPR tomorrow for another very special concert!

Not one to remain idle for long, Bischoff stopped by WNYC’s Soundcheck earlier this week. With help from NYC classical ensemble Contemporanous and Jen Goma of People Get Ready, he gave a sneak peak of a few songs that’ll be part of Wednesday’s concert.

In addition to “Eyes,” which he co-wrote with David Byrne, he treated listeners to “Reminder,” a new song featuring vocals by Goma, as well as the instrumental “DAE 2.”

Contemporanous and Goma will also join Bischoff on stage at LPR—along with Deerhoof’s Greg Saunier. You really don’t want to miss this one!

Stream the full Soundcheck segment below, and join us tomorrow for a great night of music.

We’ll leave you with our favorite exchange from Bischoff’s discussion with Soundcheck host John Schaefer:

John: Now, Jherek, you’ve been sort of a familiar figure on the New York and especially the Brooklyn music scene for a couple of years, but the neighborhood of Brooklyn you live in is…Seattle.

Jherek: [laughs] Yeah, the 30th borough.
