The January 20th edition of WFMU’s excellent soundtrack music show Morricone Island featured pianist Michael Riesman and violinist Chase Spruill as guests, and together with host Devon E. Levins they spun a pretty amazing preview of Glass & Blood: Concert Works from the Bloodiest Film Scores by Philip Glass, which Reisman and Spruill will present this Monday 1/26 at LPR.
Listen to the hour-long show, which includes selections of Glass’ music for Candyman, Dracula and The Hours, as well as Reisman and Spruill talking with Levins about the composer’s film scores, how “Glass & Blood” came together and more:
Glass & Blood is this Monday, January 26 at LPR. Get your tickets here and, while you’re at it, check out Spruill’s Mixtape Mondays post on Glass’ Candyman score.
