A classically trained soprano, Kate Miller-Heidke was once headed toward a career in the Australian opera scene. But she made a stylistic swerve and instead decided to utilize her powerful, theatrical voice in the service of unabashed pop songs. She describes her music as experimental, hooky and “unashamedly pop.”
