John Darnielle, the multitalented man behind the prolific and excellent folk rock band The Mountain Goats, joins us this Monday at LPR for a reading and discussion of his new novel Wolf in White Van.
You definitely don’t want to miss this amazing event (which is also free—RSVP here), as you’ll have the opportunity to pick up a copy of the book before it’s official release date. For now, though, you can listen to the first ten minutes of the Wolf in White Van audiobook, read by Darnielle himself:
On Monday John Darnielle will be joined by the inimitable John Hodgman, who had this to say about Wolf in White Van:
“Wolf in White Van is utterly magnificent. I was surprised and moved and amazed page after page after page. I am talking about audible gasp type stuff, and also deeper, interior gasps of reflection and astonishment and gratitude. This story is a hard and beautiful human puzzle that will be a pleasure to solve and resolve over many readings. And you can quote me on that. Every day. That is all.”
While you kick back with the audio above, scroll down and gaze at Wolf in White Van‘s terrific cover, which was art directed by Rodrigo Corral and designed by Timothy Goodman. Hodgman claims to have solved the maze “in like, nine seconds,” and who are we to doubt The Daily Show’s Resident Expert? See you Monday.
