ON SALE NOW

The focus of the Glass Farm Ensemble is on presenting imaginative programs of new works by cutting edge American composers and music from Europe’s thriving new music scene. The programming creates a space where all manner of new music can rub up against important early twentieth century chamber music, improvisation, wild experimentalism, non-Western music, and even Schumann lieder. Composers with whom the ensemble has worked closely or whose works have often been featured include György Ligeti, Louis Andriessen, Frederic Rzewski, Elliot Sharp, Elizabeth Hoffman, Paula Matthusen, Wolfgang Heiniger, Balz Trümpy, Dieter Ammann, Heinz Holliger, Roland Moser, Luigi Laveglia, and Peter Herbert. In addition, the Glass Farm Ensemble has been building an ever-expanding body of commissioned works and arrangements. In 2008 the CD “IN FOUR” was released by Innova Records. Four of the five compositions on the CD were commissioned by the Glass Farm Ensemble. Donald Rosenfeld writes in his review in Gramophone in August 2008:”…the musicians of the Glass Farm Ensemble play all these works with what it seems endless reserves of virtuosity and panache.”
