Jherek Bischoff, favorite collaborations, and more!

Jul

Seattle-based composer, musician, arranger and producer Jherek Bischoff, who plays LPR on July 31, recently debuted this video for “Eyes,” a collaboration with David Byrne that appears on Bischoff’s 2012 album Composed.

Naturally, Bischoff and Byrne’s eyes are featured prominently, along with some strings and the artful direction of Georgia and Jordan Kinley. If you want a behind-the-scenes glimpse of how the video came together, Bischoff posted a few photos from the shoot.

Bischoff is no stranger to high-profile collaborations. In addition to Byrne, Composed features vocalists such as Caetano Veloso, Mirah and Shudder To Think’s Craig Wedren, as well as Deerhoof drummer Greg Saunier and Wilco guitarist Nels Cline.

On the 31st Bischoff will perform with a 20-piece ensemble featuring members of New York’s Contemporaneous. Grab your tickets now to make sure you get to see their special bicoastal collaboration!

All this talk about special guests got us thinking, what is better than two of your favorite artists coming together to collaborate on a track, album, etc? We made a list of a few of our favorite collabs between artists, and we would love to hear what yours are!
