Earlier this week, Robert Alfons of Trust, who’s playing LPR on Thursday, April 10, celebrated the release of his new album Joyland by taking over Gorilla Vs. Bear.

We’ve already highlighted the excellent Joyland tracks “Are We Arc?”“Rescue, Mister” and “Capitol,” so now we’ll turn to some of the gems that Alfons posted while blogging for GvsB.

Enjoy, and check out more from Alfons over on Gorilla Vs. Bear.

The original demo for “Capitol”

Written seven years ago, “Capitol is the oldest song on my new record,” according to Alfons.

Vitas – “The 7th Element”

Alfons says that this song by Ukrainian artist Vita “was a huuuge inspiration for” his new album.

Leila K – “Open Sesame”

“She’s totally badass, and just look how much fun she must be having on that throne!” says Alfons.

Ace of Base – “Wheel of Fortune”

“It’s undeniable how influential they continue to be for me,” Alfons says. “Just look how much FUN they’re having in this video!”

Sleep ∞ Over – “Romantic Streams”

“Romantic Streams makes me well up every time I hear it,” Alfons says. He also shared the Sleep ∞ Over remix of the Joyland track “Lost Souls/Eelings.”
