Bio: Fell Runner is a band with “an instinct for the raw, ear-splitting sonic energy it takes to get a crowd to go nuts” (LA Weekly). Formed at CalArts in 2012, the band has performed in Los Angeles and around the West Coast opening up for artists such as Tortoise, ‪Julia Holter‬, Luke Temple, and Big Thief. Originally started as an independent study in applying West African rhythms to pop song forms, Fell Runner’s music has been described as “a wicked thicket of prickly guitars, asymmetrical rhythms and raw, emotive vocals: Post-punk meets world music meets math rock, if you will.” (BuzzBands.LA). A band consisting of diverse musicians (current/previous members of HAIM, SK Kakraba, The Americans), Fell Runner brings a wide range of influences to its music placing emphasis on energetic live shows. They released their self-titled debut CD on Los Angeles-based label, Orenda Records, on August 18th, 2015.
