Bad History Month

Bad History Month is the solo project of Jeff Meff, formerly of Boston’s much beloved Fat History Month. Following the departure of FHM’s drummer, Bob Hobby, Meff decided to move forward solo, adapting the name to Bad History Month, as to not confuse anyone… Regardless, BHM marks a growth in Meff’s songwriting, allowing for personal experimentation and studio layering to create a sound that is as lush and contemplative as it is direct and depressing. Meff’s songs get under your skin in a genuine way, with every note radiantly ringing out with a down but not quite out charm that has become Bad History Month’s signature. Self-loathing has rarely been this poetic, and Meff’s timeless songwriting is as jaw dropping in its beauty and emotional weight as its composition and delivery.
Paper Castles

Paper Castles plays songs written by it’s founding and one constant member, Paddy Reagan. He started the band in 2008 with Peter Negroponte and Ian Kovac (currently and formerly of Guerilla Toss, respectively) until the two moved out of Burlington VT in 2012. A few minor changes over the subsequent years has yielded the current line up of Brennan Mangan on drums, Wren Kitz on guitar, and Jake Brennan on guitar. The early albums sound like a bad attempt to write Red Apple Falls by Smog, and the later album sounds like a better attempt to write Knock Knock by Smog. Both Wren and Jake have released solo recordings on Section Sign Records and Brennan keeps the elderly safe from harm 5 days a week.
Alexander F (solo)
“A devastatingly fun version of the loud/quiet/loud rock of the ’90s, updated in a direction that’s more modern and more punk at once.” – The Deli
“Alexander F… made for one of the true gem performances of CMJ.” -Pancakes and Whiskey
