Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Elle Winston’s sound might best be described as a meeting of folk-legend James Taylor & songstress Chaka Khan. A deep mixture of jazz inspired soul music, with hints of blues/rock/American roots music. The unique quality of Elle’s music is reflected in the wide range of artists she’s opened for including Gil-Scott Heron, Joan Jett, Groupo Fantasma, Orgone, Bridget Kelly, Carl Thomas and others. Noted as a “an artist who’s songwriting skill is not to be overlooked” by SoulBounce, and who’s music is “a kind of perfect storm” by Billboard, Elle has become a sought after artist on both the east and west coasts. She has played the McDowell Mountain Music Festival, Hot97′s Who’s Next Showcase, LA’s annual ASCAP Showcase and headlined the Harlem Arts Festival. Elle regularly plays New York’s most beloved venues including Rockwood Music Hall, Pianos, SOB’s and Bowery Electric.
