It’s a night where we dish ON the people we’re supposed to dish TO!

Storytellers:
Mary Adkins is Blog Director for the new radio project The Life of the Law. Her essays have been published in Slate, the Hairpin, and the New York Daily News. Her plays have been produced in New York and regionally. She’s a lawyer who doesn’t do law and is working on her first novel.

Ophira Eisenberg is a comedian, writer, and host of NPR’s new weekly trivia comedy show, Ask Me Another. Selected as one of New York Magazine’s Top 10 Comics that Funny People Find Funny, and featured in the New York Times as a skilled comedian and storyteller with a “bleakly stylish” sense of humor, Ophira has also appeared on Comedy Central, VH-1, E! Channel, the Oxygen Network, and the Discovery Channel. Her writing has been published in five anthologies including I Killed: True Stories of the Road from America’s Top Comics and Heeb Magazine’s collection Sex, Drugs & Gefilte Fish. Her debut memoir, Screw Everyone: Sleeping My Way to Monogamy will be coming out in Spring 2014. She is a regular host and teller with The Moth.

Charles Sanchez is an openly gay writer/performer living in Manhattan. He started his career as a child in the Phoenix Boys Choir, toured Europe, sang for the president, traveled the country. Then his voice changed and it’s been downhill ever since. His acting career took him from Lincoln Center to Off-Broadway, regional theatre, touring children’s theatre, and finally, a stint at Murry’s Dinner Playhouse in Little Rock, Arkansas. He is ecstatic to be back in New York and is currently writing and producing Manhattan Man Travels on YouTube.

Kate Tellers is a columnist with the Gorgeous Ladies of Comedy (thegloc.net) and a co-founder of the essay series “See Me, Hear Me: A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words” (Magnet, PIT). Her writing has also appeared on xojane.com, in the New York Press, and thebillfold.com. She is a Moth StorySLAM host, a regular castmember of Gravid Water at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and the voice of Dew Bee with the children’s puppet duo “The Glamour Bees”.

And YOU:
Put your name in a hat for the chance to come on stage and tell your own story!

Hosted and Produced by:
Lori Baird is a writer, editor, and storyteller. A two-time Moth StorySlam winner and Moth podcast featured storyteller, she is also a therapy advocate and enthusiast who believes there are only two valid answers to the question, “Are you in therapy?”: “Yes,” and “Not yet.”

Lisa Kirchner is a writer, storyteller and yogi. She is living a life beyond her wildest dreams and wants the same for you. Limited edition copies of her new book, Meeting My Inner Bitch: How 10 Days in Silence Ended 20 Years of Searching will be out in 2013. Hello, Female Lady Creature (Greenpoint Press) will also be out in 2013.

This is a general admission event in The Gallery at LPR.
