On the Rise at LPR

On The Rise at LPR is a music series dedicated to showcasing up and coming bands from the New York City area. LPR is committed to finding some of the best local talent and exposing our patrons to bands that we truly believe in.

Not Blood Paint

Not Blood Paint’s shows have gained a reputation for being unpredictable, disorienting experiences. They employ costumes, set pieces, audience, plants, and theatrics to create immersive spectacles that keep audiences reeling and give physical lives to the songs. The band has developed a system called the New Suit Methodology as a way of experiencing the music and environment differently each time, looking to encourage non-anticipation in themselves and those in the room with them.

A Deer A Horse

Dark, heavy, and full of tension, A Deer A Horse’s music is a rare breed in Brooklyn’s DIY scene. Comprised of Rebecca Satellite (vocals/guitar), Angela Phillips (bass/backing vocals), and Dylan Teggart (drums), the trio have embraced the raw and dirty aspects of their city and created something simultaneously urgent, sludgy, and cathartic with their upcoming EP, Backswimmer, set for release on March 10th via Custom Made Music.

“moody, searing guitar rock” – Village Voice

“ADAH shatters the prehistoric notions of living, demanding something present and conscious in the now.” – Impose Magazine

“Their worming guitar licks exist in dark, cavernous places, an occasional light swinging over to take the edge off.” – Culture Collide

Language

The members of Language moved to New York from similar towns in Indiana and Michigan at different points within the last decade, coming together as a band in 2014. Fans of punk in all its many forms, Language use a classic set-up to make short, energetic songs they like to think of as marches or anthems for nonexistent occasions. Language is Omar Afzaal (guitar), Wes Black (drums), and Charles Sloan (bass).
