Michael and Lisa Gungor are curators of the Grammy-nominated musical collective simply known as Gungor. The duo uses their skills as accomplished song writers and multi-instrumentalists to tell honest and forthright stories – some personal and some allegorical. Together they’ve tapped their considerable musical reserves to blur genres and break expectations creating a unique magnetic expression.

Gungor just completed their most ambitious endeavor to date called One Wild Life, which is comprised of three full-length albums – Soul, Spirit, and Body. On August 7, 2015, they kicked off the album trilogy with One Wild Life: Soul, which debuted as the #15 album on the iTunes Alternative chart. It was followed up with One Wild Life: Spirit on March 25, 2016. The final piece of the album trilogy concluded with One Wild Life: Body, which released on September 30, 2016. While each record carries with it its own distinct vibe, the album series presents a body of work that celebrates the adventure and challenges faced by Michael and Lisa Gungor since the release of their album I Am Mountain in 2013.

LaPeer

A descendent of some of Lapeer’s earliest settlers, 22-year-old LaPeer’s roots run deep into the heart of the Michigan city that bears his name. The son of a brilliant violinist, LaPeer grew up on music, classic literature and travel – exploring over 30 countries. Of all the experiences that have marked his songwriting, it was a season of wrestling with a relationship trapped in ambiguity that resulted in over a hundred new songs. Over four calendar seasons, LaPeer is releasing four EPs to tell us what became of his story; one of love, loss and everything in between.

When Lands Are Golden, debuted on Oct. 6. These six tracks were written simply – all on one guitar – then brought to life by producer Gabriel Wilson (Bethel, Kari Jobe, John Mark McMillan). With instrumentation from musicians Jesse Proctor (John Mark McMillan), Jason Barrows (Josh Garrels), Kendall Fowler, and Jeremy Larson (Sleeping at Last, Violents), the EP features thick 80’s synth pads, rich string arrangements, and effortless melodies. “Heart Haunting,” the debut single, was recently added to the Starbucks “Coffeehouse” Spotify playlist and can be heard throughout Starbucks locations worldwide

LaPeer released the winter installment of his seasonal EP series, In Blistering Cold on Feb. 24. Fans can look forward to the third and fourth EPs of the set this spring and summer.
