Philippe Quint

Constantly in demand worldwide, multi Grammy Award nominee violinist Philippe Quint’s most recent appearances include performances with the orchestras of London, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, Seattle, Toulouse, New Jersey, Minnesota, Bournemouth, Houston, Weimar Staatskapelle, Royal Liverpool, China National, Orpheus, Berlin Komische Oper, Leipzig’s MDR at the Gewandhaus. He has performed under the batons of Marin Alsop, Carl St. Clair, Tugan Sokhiev, Grant Llewellyn, Andrew Litton, Cristian Macelaru, Kurt Masur, Jorge Mester, Edo de Waart, Jahja Ling, Krzysztof Urbanski, Ludovic Morlot, Marco Parisotto, Carlos Miguel Prieto, Tugan Sokhiev, Steven Sloane, Michael Stern, Bramwell Tovey, and Martin Yates among many others. Quint earned both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Juilliard and plays the magnificent 1708 “Ruby” Antonio Stradivari violin on loan to him through the generous efforts of The Stradivari Society®.

Chee-Yun

Since her first public performance at age 8 in her native Seoul, violinist Chee-Yun has enraptured audiences on five continents with her flawless technique, dazzling tone and compelling artistry. Since winning the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in 1989 and the Avery Fisher Career Grant in 1990, she has performed regularly with the world’s foremost orchestras, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, the London Philharmonic, and the Toronto, Pittsburgh, Atlanta and National symphony orchestras, and with such distinguished conductors as Michael Tilson Thomas, Jaap van Zweden, Neeme Järvi, and Manfred Honeck. In 2016, Chee-Yun performed as a guest artist for the Secretary General at the United Nations in celebration of Korea’s National Foundation Day and the 25th Anniversary of South Korea joining the UN. Chee-Yun’s seven discs on the Denon label and one on the Naxos label have received exceptional acclaim, and she has been heard frequently on NPR’s Performance Today and WQXR in New York City. Chee-Yun plays the 1669 Francesco Rugeri violin which she has owned since 1991 and currently resides in Dallas, TX where she is an Artist-in-Residence and Professor of Violin at Southern Methodist University.

Kurt Nikkanen

American violinist Kurt Nikkanen is an international soloist of the highest order. Mr. Nikkanen regularly receives invitations from the leading orchestras and presenters in the USA and Europe, and has toured Japan and the Far East. Highlights of recent seasons have included a UK tour with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, performances with the Gothenburg Symphony and Neeme Jarvi at the BBC Proms, and concerts with the Rotterdam Philharmonic, Prague Symphony and RTE Orchestra in Dublin. An enthusiastic advocate of contemporary music, Mr. Nikkanen has given numerous performances of the John Adams Violin Concerto, and has had many works written for him, including Steven R. Gerber’s violin concerto, which he has recorded for Koch International. In addition to his orchestral appearances, Kurt Nikkanen performs regularly as a recitalist with his wife, pianist Maria Asteriadou, presenting repertoire ranging from the complete Beethoven sonatas to Piazzolla tangos. He is the Concertmaster of the New York City Ballet Orchestra and a graduate of the Juilliard School, where he was a scholarship student of Dorothy DeLay.

Paul Huang

Recipient of the 2015 Avery Fisher Career Grant and the 2017 Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Award, violinist Paul Huang’s recent seasons include engagements with the Houston, Detroit, Pacific, Alabama, Bilbao Symphonies, Louisiana and Seoul Philharmonic, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, and the National Symphony of Taiwan. In addition, he debuts this season at the White Nights Festival at the invitation of Valery Gergiev. Last season, he debuted on Lincoln Center’s “Great Performers” series and stepped in for Midori with Leonard Slatkin and the Detroit Symphony to critical acclaim. He has also made recital debuts at the Kennedy Center and the Louvre in Paris. His chamber music collaborators have included Gil Shaham, Cho-Liang Lin, Lawrence Power, Nobuko Imai, Mischa Maisky, and Marc-Andre Hamelin. A graduate of the Juilliard School, Mr. Huang studied with Hyo Kang and I-Hao Lee. He won the 2011 Young Concert Artists International Auditions and is a member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Mr. Huang plays the Guarneri del Gesù 1742 “ex-Wieniawski”, on loan through the Stradivari Society.

Randall Goosby

Violinist Randall Mitsuo Goosby (20) made his Carnegie Hall debut at age 13, where he “exerted a masterly level of control and lavished an exquisite tone playing Ysaye’s unaccompanied Sonata No. 3…and his performance won him a deserved standing ovation for its sheer virtuosity” (NY Times). Randall has appeared as guest soloist with numerous orchestras throughout the United States since winning First Prize at the Annual Sphinx Concerto Competition in 2010, at age 13. Additionally, he received the prestigious Isaac Stern Award (2011) following his second solo performance at Carnegie Hall, and has been featured on National Public Radio’s “From the Top” program (2012). Randall currently studies with reigning violin virtuoso, Itzhak Perlman, and Catherine Cho at The Juilliard School, where he is pursuing an undergraduate degree in Violin Performance, and a proud recipient of the prestigious Kovner Fellowship. Randall plays on a magnificent Giovanni Paolo Maggini (c. 1590) on generous loan from the Stradivari Society of Chicago.

John Novacek

Pianist John Novacek regularly tours the Americas, Europe and Asia as solo recitalist, chamber musician and concerto soloist; in the latter capacity he has presented over thirty concerti with dozens of orchestras. Novacek’s major American performances have been heard in New York’s Carnegie Hall, Washington’s The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Boston’s Symphony Hall, Chicago’s Symphony Center and Los Angeles’ Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, while international venues include Paris’ Theatre des Champs-Elysées, London’s Wigmore Hall, as well as most of the major concert halls of Japan. A much sought-after collaborative artist he also tours widely as a member of Intersection, a piano trio that includes violinist Kaura Frautschi and cellist Kristina Reiko Coooper. Mr. Novacek has also given numerous world premieres and worked closely with composers John Adams, John Harbison, Jennifer Higdon, George Rochberg, John Williams and John Zorn. He has recorded over 30 CDs, encompassing solo and chamber music by most major composers from Bach to Bartók, as well as many contemporary and original scores. John Novacek is a Steinway Artist.
