Paris born composer Daniel Wohl creates electroacoustic pieces that blur the line between electronic and acoustic instrumentation, “seemingly melting both elements into a greater organic whole” (WNYC). Performances of his electracoustic works have been presented by the San Francisco Symphony Soundbox series, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s MusicNOW series, the La Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall, the Barbican, Liquid Music, the Broad Museum, MASS MoCA, the Holland Festival and MoMA PS1. He has collaborated with artists and ensembles including So Percussion, Julia Holter, the Calder Quartet, Laurel Halo, Lucky Dragons, Olga Bell and the Bang on a Can-All Stars. Holographic, his most recent release for New Amsterdam Records, was commissioned by MASS MoCA, Liquid Music, Baryshnikov Art Center, and the Indianapolis Museum of Art, bringing together strings, percussion and electronics in a series of pieces that NPR has called “both aggressive and gorgeous.”
