Prepare for an evening of disruptive, challenging and controversial art and writing as Three Rooms Press celebrates NYC Does DADA 6 at Le Poisson Rouge. The event will feature performances by modern day Dadaists whose work continues the spirit of the avant garde art movement sprung from the horror of World War I. The event will also celebrate the launch of Maintenant 13: A Journal of Contemporary Dada Writing and Art, published annually since 2008 by Three Rooms Press.

Three Rooms Press co-directors and New York-based performance artists Peter Carlaftes and Kat Georges will host. Featured performers include contributors to this year’s journal engaging in a variety of dada live art installations, including: Bibbe Hansen, Mark Kostabi, Larry Meyers, Thomas Fucaloro,George Wallace, Heide Hatry, Lois Kagan Mingus, Charles Mingus III, Alfonso Iandorio, Karen Hildebrand, Robert Ford,Anoek van Praag, David Lawton, Sophie Malleret, Jane Ormerod, Aimee Herman, Patricia Leonard, Puma Perl, Jeff Farr, Pamela Papino-Wood, Gordon Gilbert, Martina Salisbury, Billy Cancel, Craig Kite, Matthew Hupert, and the one and only Jane LeCroy!!!

MAINTENANT 13: A Journal of Contemporary Dada Writing and Art serves up the controversial theme,”A.I. ARTIFICIAL IGNORANCE’.” � If you think humanity will be destroyed by Artificial Intelligence –think again. Where’s the intelligence? Ignorance is what prevails as rational thought takes a backseat to playground pettiness. With ARTIFICIAL IGNORANCE, Our Artists and Writers take the reigns to completely expose the dumb and dumbing-down of humanity head on and for the reader/listener –The Truth WILL set you free!!!

The MAINTENANT series, established in 2005, gathers the work of renowned and emerging dada artists and writers from around the world. The series has been archived in leading international institutions including the Museum of Contemporary Art–New York, the BelVUE Museum–Brussels, and more. Renowned contributors have included artists Mark Kostabi, Raymond Pettibon, Giovanni Fontana, Jean-Jacques Lebel, and Kazunori Murakami. Writers have included Allen Ginsberg, Gerard Malanga, Charles Plymell, Jerome Rothenberg, and more, with a strong contingent of punk musician-artist-writers including Thurston Moore, Grant Hart, Mike Watt, and Exene Cervenka.
