Instupendo floats into earshot with original euphorically melancholy songs that listeners say they turn to when they feel, or want to feel, a certain way. His distinctive sound has been compared to “something akin to taking Tycho’s work, incepting it into a dreamscape, and slowing it way down” (Dancing Astronaut) and called “a silken, ethereal logic operating somewhere in the space between trap and ambient” (The Deli Mag).
This emotional sound design has earned him a world-wide following, nods from Pigeons & Planes, Indie Shuffle, The 405, and Nest HQ, as well as regular features on Spotify, Apple Music and Majestic Casual. He’s performed at SXSW, and supported Rostam, Shallou, George Fitzgerald, Ryan Hemsworth x Giraffage, and Snail Mail.
2019 launched a new chapter, with the release of ‘50-50 feat. Instupendo’ on collaborator Toro Y Moi’s ‘Outer Peace’ LP, followed shortly thereafter by, ‘Persona’, a somber, soothing lullaby that arose from his participation in a campaign with Urban Outfitters and Teenage Engineering to launch TE’s OP-Z synth. His next project is the first to feature his own vocals, newly marking the 19 year-old indie artist as a singer-songwriter-producer.
