Steve Gunn has been at the vanguard of American experimental and guitar-oriented rock music for over a decade. Following a trio of acclaimed albums on Matador Records, Gunn will release his seventh studio album, Daylight Daylight, on November 7 via No Quarter—his first in four years, and a testament to an artist still moving forward with purpose and vision.

This past August, Gunn released Music for Writers, his first official solo instrumental album, on Three Lobed Recordings. The release highlights his ongoing exploration of tone, atmosphere, and composition.

Spanning a wide range of collaborations and influences, Gunn’s career includes a rich body of solo, duo, and ensemble recordings on labels such as Three Lobed Recordings, Paradise of Bachelors, and RVNG. His work continues to mark major milestones in contemporary guitar music and innovative songwriting. Even after more than a decade, Gunn is still moving along—shaping his influences into a unique and ever-evolving output.

Bridget St John is one of the most distinctive and influential voices to emerge from the British folk revival. Discovered by John Peel in the late 1960s, she was signed to Dandelion Records, the label founded by Peel, and went on to release three critically revered albums, Ask Me No Questions (1969), Songs for the Gentle Man (1971), and Thank you for…(1972) before the label closed its doors in 1973.

A singer-songwriter and guitarist, who credits John Martyn and Michael Chapman as two of her “musical brothers” and mentors, St John toured with many other folk and pop luminaries of the time, among them Nick Drake,
David Bowie, and Fairport Convention.

Within a couple years of relocating to New York in 1976, Bridget St John played Carnegie Hall, the Dr. Pepper Central Park Music Festival and iconic Greenwich Village music venues like The Bottom Line, The Bitter End, and Kenny’s Castaways. She recorded many tracks in New York and Nashville between 1976 and 1982 many of which were included on Take the 5ifth released in 1996 on RGF records.

St John’s reputation has grown steadily over the decades. Her work has been reissued by Cherry Red Records to widespread acclaim, and she has influenced generations of artists drawn to her understated delivery, emotional honesty and distinctive songwriting voice.Celebrated not only as a pioneering figure of British folk, but as a timeless songwriter whose work resonates across eras, Bridget St John’s live appearances offer audiences the chance to experience an artist of remarkable subtlety, integrity and enduring creative power.

Her new material has been warmly received by critics and audiences alike, reaffirming her place as a vital and relevant artist. Covering my brothers was released on vinyl by the Shagrat Record label in 2025.

She continues to write, record, and explore collaborations with various contemporary artists including Steve Gunn, Evie Sands, Arandel, David Nagler, Emma Tricca, German cellist Emily Wittbrodt, and LA keyboardist Willie Aron.

Bridget St. John and Steve Gunn are currently co-producing her new album to be released in the Spring of 2027.
