Varsity Letters returns to The Gallery at Le Poisson Rouge on Tuesday, October 9 for a night celebrating the history of basketball.

Veteran Varsity Letters speaker Rafe Bartholomew will be making his return. He is most recently the co-author — along with Jackie MacMullan and Dan Klores — of the new book Basketball: A Love Story, an oral history of the history of the game and an accompaniment to a new ESPN film series.

He’ll be joined by New York Times bestselling author Jonathan Coleman, co-author of Jerry West’s autobiography West by West: My Charmed, Tormented Life.

New York Times Magazine staff writer Sam Anderson will read from and discuss his new book, Boom Town: The Fantastical Saga of Oklahoma City, its Chaotic Founding… its Purloined Basketball Team, and the Dream of Becoming a World-class Metropolis.
