Nick Cordero Nick Cordero

Nick Cordero hails from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Growing up in a creative, multi cultural household led Nick to the theater at an early age. He began singing and performing professionally at the age of 15. He studied Acting at Ryerson University in Toronto, where he began writing and recording music as a hobby. The hobby quickly turned to passion and Nick left school to pursue touring and recording his band LOVEMETHOD. After 4 years, 2 studio albums and a distribution deal with MapleMusic/Universal and several song features in shows such as ‘HEARTLAND’, ‘FLASHPOINT’ and ‘DEGRASSI:THE NEXT GENERATION’, the band decided to go their separate ways and Nick decided he’d make his inevitable return to acting.

He played Tony in Tony & Tina’s Wedding at Toronto’s famed Second City Improv, Jaime in The Last Five Years (ACT), Nugget in Equus (Citadel Theater), Sammy in Blood Brothers (Theater Aquarius), Fiddler On The Roof (Manitoba Theater Center), worked in television on “Queer As Folk” (Showtime) and “Brothers” (Canadian Film Center) before deciding to move to New York in August, 2007.

Shortly after arriving he was cast as Melvin Ferd III/Toxie in The Toxic Avenger Musical directed by Tony Award winning director John Rando (Urinetown) and written by Tony Award winners Joe DiPietro (I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, Memphis)& David Bryan (Memphis, Keyboardist and founding member of Bon Jovi). The play opened regionally at The George St. Playhouse in New Brunswick, NJ, then continued on to New York where it ran Off-Broadway for over 350 performances at New World Stages. The play won an Outer Critics Circle Award for Best New Musical (Off-Broadway). Nick also appears on the Original Cast Recording of Toxic, released in March, 2009 by TIME/LIFE.

Nick is currently on the 1st National Tour of the Broadway smash hit ROCK OF AGES playing BAR OWNER DENNIS DUPREE. He has also recently teamed up once more with songwriting partner Ro Sardana to work on a new Rock project called The Means (www.themeansmusic.com), which will be performing in select cities throughout the US during the coming year.
