(Le) Poisson Rouge Box Office Staff Job Description

OVERVIEW:
(Le) Poisson Rouge is an 800-capacity multimedia art cabaret founded by musicians on the site of the historic Village Gate. We present concerts, dance and theater performances, film screenings, special events and late-night programming in the flexible-use main space, which features acoustic engineering by the legendary John Storyk/WSDG (Electric Lady Studios, Jazz @ Lincoln Center). The adjoining lounge is open at night as a secondary bar and event space. Box Office staff report to the Box Office Manager and function as essential operations staff.

COMMITMENT:
Candidates must be able to commit 10-20 hours per week over 3-5 shifts
Evening & weekend availability is a must
Holiday availability is a plus

QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference given to candidates with previous box office or music industry experience
Proficient with POS system; training available for the right candidates
Commitment and enthusiasm for outstanding customer service
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and commitment to teamwork
Familiarity with the arts and local cultural resources ranging from classic to cutting-edge
Mature and discreet conduct in a fast-paced, high-profile environment
Punctual and reliable, willing to pick up shifts on short notice

DUTIES:
Sell tickets via POS system, handle cash and complete transactions with professionalism and courtesy
Facilitate will call check-in efficiently and with a welcoming attitude
Usher patrons to their seats during seated performances
Assist with selling artist merchandise on an as-needed basis
Provide fast, efficient, friendly customer service in all aspects of job responsibilities
Serve as a public relations ambassador of the venue
