Litquake and WFMU present the New York debut of Way Behind the Music, a night of hilariously odd music memoirs brought to life onstage! Join our lineup of esteemed musicians, writers and comedians as they read excerpts from a choice selection of music autobiographies, featuring the actual published literary efforts of “authors” like Pat Boone, Flavor Flav, Vince Neil, Jewel, Billy Corgan, Barry White, David Cassidy, Tori Amos, Snoop Dogg, Justin Bieber, Sammy Hagar, Liberace, Miles Davis, Peter Criss, Ace Frehley, George Jones, Cherry Vanilla, Trace Adkins, Marilyn Manson, video vixen Karrine Steffans, Chuck Negron (Three Dog Night), Peggy Caserta (Janis Joplin’s lover), Cyrinda Foxe-Tyler (wife of Steven), Jane Carter (mother of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter), Denise McLean (mother of Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean), and many more.

All proceeds go to Lit Crawl NYC, the annual literary pub crawl which takes place Saturday, September 14 through the East Village and Lower East Side.

This is a general admission event in The Gallery at LPR.
