The Dangerous Summer

A funny thing happened when The Dangerous Summer walked away in 2014: People kept listening. In fact, the legend of the Ellicott City, Maryland based band signed by Hopeless Records during their senior year of high school in 2007 only grew larger in their absence. Fans inked vocalist/bassist AJ Perdomo’s words on their skin. Bands cribbed their names from Dangerous Summer song titles. They never broke in the mainstream, but to a rabid underground audience, The Dangerous Summer were a phenomenon.

Flash forward to 2018 and the band Perdomo, guitarist Matt Kennedy and drummer Ben Cato began their second chapter with the release of their self titled full length album, their first in four years, and a year of non stop touring. Rekindling their love and resolve for playing shows, being on the road, and writing music, The Dangerous Summer didn’t want to waste a minute, and jumped back into the studio to record their follow up album, Mother Nature. Working with acclaimed producer, Sam Pura (The Story So Far, Basement, Hundredth), the band threw all convention away and poured their heart and soul into the most raw, emotional, pure rock collection of songs of their career.

The BRKN

Head banging, singing, jumping, and crying….these are a few of the things you may find yourself doing at a THE BRKN show. Drop your cares at the door and get ready to party! High-energy, guitar-driven pop punk music with something to offer everyone. Live performances draw inspiration from Guns n’ Roses to Neck Deep to James Brown and strive to be just as fun to watch as to listen to. Be prepared to have a good time and leave with a few new friends! Whether playing to a crowd of 5 or 5000, everyone is a part of the show. (But there will probably be less stage diving if there are 5 people) THE BRKN may not be your best friends yet, but they’re ready to be!

Locket

Encasing emotionally charged confessions inside of glimmering guitars, Locket emit a similar glow. The Toronto, Canada quartet—Brad Garcia [vocals, guitar], JJ Sorensen [drums], Cory Bergeron [guitars], and Travis Morrison [bass]—craft ten catchy and connectable anthems on their full-length debut, All Out [Fearless Records].

Arms Akimbo

Los Angeles indie group Arms Akimbo (Chris Kalil – vox/guitar, Peter Schrupp – vox/guitar, Matt Sutton – drums and Colin Boppell – vox/bass) return with a new EP, “Seven Dollar Paycheck”. It’s a record that continues to expose the anxiety, trepidation but also wonderment in taking on an uncertain world whilst feeling barely armed for that reality. The theme of the EP is obvious: Juggling the desire to stay creative and young whilst also putting food on the table and assuring yourself that this is the right path. All the time aiming for dreams that seem maddeningly just out of reach.

Formed at Loyola Marymount University in LA, the foursome bonded over bands such as Portugal. The Man, Local Natives and Hippo Campus. After releasing a series of singles their 2018 EP The Wrong Kind Of Dance Party cemented them as a band vividly capturing the fears and excitement of post-college life.
