Laolu NYC is a Nigerian born Brooklyn based Performance Artist, Visual Artist, Musician, and Human Rights Lawyer. His Performance Art he created gained world wide recognition when it was featured in Beyonce’s Visual Album, “Lemonade.” Laolu’s musical style is a mix of Afrobeat, reggae and hip hop with some R&B thrown in for good measure. Laolu’s mantra is ‘everything is my canvas’ and he takes it literally drawing on everything from canvas, to shoes, to clothing, to walls and even the human body. His musical influences are Fela, King Sunny Ade and Sade. Laolu also collaborated with Bvlgari on their “Man in Black” Cologne and it’s now available exclusively at Bloomingdale’s.
